The Spanish royals proved they love working together as they joked around on an official visit in Madrid on Tuesday.

King Felipe, 48, larked around and showed who was really boss as he pointed at his wife in a jokey manner as they posed for snaps in Spain.

The couple, who are some of the hardest working monarchs in the world, were at the annual meeting of the Cervantes Institute Patronage held at the Royal Palace of Aranjuez on the outskirts of Madrid.

The stylish Queen looked as chic as ever in a fitted black dress with a pink Peter Pan collar. The petite royal highlighted her trim frame with the addition of a chunky belt around her waist.

She toted a boxy black handbag and wore a pair of silver earrings.

Her dapper husband looked cool in a suit and was sporting his signature grey-tinged beard for the occasion.

The duo sat down for discussions with acting Foreign Minister, Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo, as they discussed the institute's activities.

The Cervantes Institute is a Spanish Government Language and Cultural Centre, which aims to promote Spanish language teaching. It also helps promote cultural knowledge and learning.

The centre offers activities to promote arts, literature and culture and regularly hosts shows and musicals.

The Queen was last seen at the El Prado Museum in Madrid last week where she joined other members for the annual event.

The Spanish royal looked right at home among dozens of suited businessmen as she joined them for a talk in the museum.
