the lack of information on his state of health.
Addressing journalists at Nnewi, on Monday night, the family’s spokesperson, Chief Azuka Okwuosa, spoke on the telephone with Chief Ojukwu’s wife, Bianca, who confirmed that her husband was alive and responding well to treatment.
Okwuosa said that the misleading information about the health of Ojukwu was the handiwork of mischief makers, saying what the Ikemba of Nnewi needed now were prayers.
He appealed to people of goodwill to support the family and friends with their prayers for a quick recovery, adding that “the Almighty God has not finished using him to foster national unity and the good of the nation.”
According to him, “at 77, Ojukwu is by no means a very young person and he had stroke which he is battling gallantly to the admiration of even his medical team. As a result of keeping the family and friends abreast with things, I have maintained an hourly contact with the wife at his bedside. He still has more years of service to Nigeria and humanity.”
