Omeruo reacts to Rohr’s decision to bench him against South Africa

Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo, has refused to criticise the decision of coach Gernot Rohr, to drop him for the 2-0 defeat to South Africa in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo, Akwa Ibom.

Rohr picked Nantes-bound Chidozie Awaziem instead.

Omeruo, who has been a permanent fixture in the team since 2013, however insists that the manager makes the final decision.

“It happens in football, but we will learn from this and move on better,” he said.

“The coach made a decision, and as players, we must back him and others picked for the team to succeed.”
