There was heavy exchange of gunfire between Boko Haram and Nigerian military forces in Gwoza town on Tuesday, October 9.

Daily Trust reports that the Nigerian military forces were said to be on top of the situation, as the town had become calm after an hour of heavy gunfire.

Meanwhile, Onlinenigeria.com had previously reported that Brigadier-general Sani Usman who is the spokesperson of the Nigerian army said they were intercepted in Lingir village of Borno state while trying to herd rustled cattle into the Maiduguri cattle market.
