A report by Daily Trust indicates that about 411 members of the Boko Haram sect were killed in an air strike carried out by the Nigerian military on Saturday, October 21.
According to the report, the airstrike was carried out in remote areas in the northern part of Borno state.
The report quoted local hunters and members of the Civilian JTF saying the airstrike took place around forested areas in Gudumbali village.

The insurgents were said to have been gathering for two weeks, stationing hundreds of the sect members at some of their camps located there, for a mission to launch coordinated attacks.
"A military fighter jet had on Saturday destroyed all the nine camps of members of the Boko Haram sect, killing about 350 of them," a Civilian JTF personnel said.
Elsewhere, 61 more Boko Haram militants were also killed by the military at Musune village in Dikwa local government area of Borno state.
A guard who was privy to the attack said: "On Friday, the soldiers laid an ambush on the insurgents, killing 61 and recovering many weapons."
The military's stirke was carried out about 48 hours after nine soldiers were said to have been killed by some gunmen who launched an attack on their military base in Marte local government area.
"On Thursday around 5:00pm, the gunmen just appeared there shooting sporadically. Nine to 11 soldiers have lost their lives while many have sustained injuries," a youth vigilante said.
In a related development, a Nigerian Air Force jet has destroyed Boko Haram camps in Konduga area of Borno state.
The Air Force confirmed the operation in a brief statement on Saturday, October 21. The operation was carried out on Thursday, October 19 by an Alpha jet carrying bombs.
