Why we don’t want Buhari to die before 2019 - PDP National Chairman reveals

- Senator Ahmed Makarfi admitted that the opposition party had dashed the hopes of Nigerians previously, but would rectify the situation if given another chance

- Makarfi stated that Nigerians were tired of Buhari's 'change', and prayed for God to keep the President alive till 2019 so he would be able to witness his removal from power

- He stated that the party would carry the nation along in 2019 as he claimed that Nigerians were missing the PDP

Senator Ahmed Makarfi, the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the opposition party will continue to pray that President Muhammadu Buhari remains alive till 2019.

According to reports, Makarfi made his comments while speaking at the ongoing PDP National Non-Elective Convention in Abuja, on Saturday August 12.

While acknowledging that the hopes of Nigerians were dashed by the ruling party, the PDP leader stated that if given another chance, the party was ready to make amends.

He stated: “We will continue to pray for the president.

"God will keep him alive till 2019 so he would witness his removal from power because Nigerians are already tired of this change.

“We are not perfect and we would always learn from our mistake. We know Nigerians are missing us and we would always carry them along when we return in 2019.”

Recall that NAIJ.com previously reported that the Non-Elective Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party began at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Saturday August 12.
