United States calls for end to violence in Nigeria

- This comes amidst different violent acts in the country

- In recent days, members of the Indigenous People of Biafra clashed with operatives of Nigerian army in Abia state

Amid growing tension in the country, the United States Mission to Nigeria on Friday, September 15, called for end to violence in the country.

The United States made this known in a tweet on Friday.

The US Mission to Nigeria said that it is joining well-meaning Nigerians to sue for peace, calling for an end to violence in the country.

The tweet read: "The U.S. Mission to Nigeria joins the calls of Nigerian leaders and citizens across the country for an end to violence. #OutofManyOne".
