EFCC denies blocking Diezani's return to Nigeria for trial





- EFCC has denied blocking Diezani Alison-Madueke's efforts to return from London to face trial in Nigeria

- The former petroleum minister became an object of interest to the UK National Crime Agency as she was investigated for corruption

- Diezani fled to London shortly after she left office in May 2015 where she is receiving treatment for cancer

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday, September 21, denied blocking an attempt by embattled former petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to return to Nigeria to face trial.

NAIJ.com gathered that the former minister is facing multiple corruption and money laundering allegations during her tenure as minister.

She is also being investigated by the British and American authorities, and has been living in the United Kingdom for two years where she is receiving treatment for cancer.
