The newly appointed leader of business in the Ekiti state House of Assembly, Gboyega Aribisogan, has disclosed the reason for the impeachment of the Assembly’s speaker and deputy speaker.
The lawmakers had removed the former speaker, Kola Oluwawole and his deputy, Sina Animasaun and also suspended Oluwawole for 125 legislative days, alongside 11 other lawmakers, Vanguard notes.

NAIJ.com gathers that while addressing newsmen after plenary on Thursday, October 11, Aribisogan said Oluwawole and other PDP lawmakers were suspended over alleged complicity in the disappearance of N60 million in the House
He said: “We held a plenary session which was a follow up to the parliamentary (sic) we held on Wednesday (October 10) and we carried out changes in the leadership of the House.
“When the PDP members were busy doing the presidential primary in Port Harcourt, we were busy here strategizing on how best to make Ekiti governable for the incoming government, Dr Kayode Fayemi.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that Kola Oluwawole, who was impeached as the speaker of the Ekiti state House of Assembly, said that he remains the authentic speaker of the Assembly.
Oluwawole described his removal as an illegality which cannot stand.
