Student beheaded in cult war, at the College of Education in Edo State

Renewed cult war at the College of Education, Ekiadolor in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, has resulted in the beheading of a student suspected to be from the institution.

The sight of the unidentified student’s head soaked in blood, was taken to the Central Hospital in Benin yesterday by the police.
The head was left in front of the institution’s gate, apparently as a signal to rival cult group.

The slain student may have been killed in a gruesome manner as there was a gunshot wound and machete cut on the severed head while grasses were stuffed into the mouth.

As at Press time, the whereabouts of the body was not known even as the police were said to have arrested several suspects.
Residents of Ekiadolor, the college’s host community said they heard gunshot at night only for a fresh skull to be found in front of the school gate in the morning.

Meanwhile, the, Provost, Amen Uhunmwagho, said the institution was yet to ascertain whether the slain man was a student of the institution. According to him, police investigation would establish his identity.
When contacted yesterday, the state Police command spokesman, ASP Peter Ogboi said he was yet to be briefed.


In another development fire on Monday afternoon wreaked havoc at Mouka foam factory at Okhun Community in the outskirts of Benin city, destroying property, worth millions of naira.
The fire caused confusion at the premises as staff and other sympathizers fought to stop the inferno from spreading but to no avail.
The fire was said to have started from the facilities of the processed foams due to pressure.


Help reportedly came late when men of state Fire Service with the Air Force and the Army arrived at the scene to put it out.
Following the confusion the place was looted.
