2019: Showdown looms as PDP youths rally around David Mark; state reasons why former Senate President should be elected president
- The youth wing of the Peoples Democratic Party has given reasons why Senator David Mark should be elected as president in 2019
- Alhaji Abdullahi Ali Kano, leader of the group, stated that Mark has been tested and tried, and had proven that he is not a fair-weather politician
- The youths praised Mark for saving Nigeria from constitutional crisis during the Umaru Musa Yar’adua administration, and disclosed that they would kick off their rally in support of the former senate president over the weekend
The Peoples Democratic Party youth wing, has given reasons why Nigerians should make former Senate President, David Mark, president in 2019.
According to reports, Alhaji Abdullahi Ali Kano, the group’s national coordinator disclosed that the PDP youths had concluded arrangements to kick-off its rally in support of Mark’s presidency in Sokoto at the weekend.
The rally will be replicated in the 36 states of the federation.

NAIJ.com gathers that Ali Kano insisted that the former senate president had all the attributes of a leader.
He stated: “Mark has never, since the inception of the PDP, left the party. For 19 years, he has remained faithful and loyal to the party. He has shown that he is not a fair-weather politician.
““David Mark is a disciplined military officer, an astute politician who is tested and trusted. He presided over the National Assembly for eight years without blemish.
“Nigerians will always remember him for saving our country from constitutional crisis during Umaru Musa Yar’adua’s administration when he came up with the Doctrine of Necessity.”

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that ahead of the 2019 presidential election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) zoned its ticket for the presidency to the north.
This is aimed at countering the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) which has the president, Muhammadu Buhari, from the north.
