Members of staff at the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta (FUNAAB) threw a party on Tuesday, May 16, to celebrate the suspension of their vice chancellor, Prof Olusola Oyewole.
Daily Trust reports that the Non-Academic Staff Union, the senior civil workers' arm of the university and the association of technologists were happy to the point of throwing the elaborate parties at different locations inside the university.
Celebrating the VC's exit from the school, workers turned up at the 'relief party' wearing gorgeous attire.
One of the things they also did was to fry bean balls (Akara), a symbolic act in Yoruba which is done to celebrate the passing of a dead person.
