Grammys 2020: Angelique Kidjo Wins ‘Best World Music Album’ Ahead Of Burna Boy


The 62nd Grammy Awards just ended a few hours ago and it happened at the popular Staples Center.

Before the prestigious event, Nigerians were all getting behind singer Burna Boy to win his first Grammys for the culture down here. He was nominated in the ‘Best World Music Album‘ category other top African musicians noticeably Angelique Kidjo.

Sadly, the Beninese singer Angelique Kidjo was announced winner of the ‘Best World Music Album’ ahead of Burna Boy for her album Celia. The win made her a four-time Grammy award winner.

While giving her acceptance speech, Angelique Kidjo dedicated her award to Burna Boy. She was featured on the African Giant album on a track different together with Damian Marley.
