7 Nigerian Musicians Who Did Not Live Up The Hype

The Nigerian music industry has witnessed so many musicians who have come to the fore beaming with lots of prospects and crazy potentials who failed to live up the hype and buzz that once surrounded them. Some of these guys were destined for greatness but along the line fall off the track and lost their appeal.

The competitive nature of the music industry leaves no room for those who would rather take all the time in the world to show the stuff they are made of, hence you could go from hero to zero in a matter of time.

There is a certain impatience or urgency placed on artistes to prove their worth in a short period of time which in most cases cause many to buckle under pressure. It is possible to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the music industry that an artiste very soon loses his identity or perhaps begins to doubt his abilities.

For some reasons these listed Nigerian artistes lost their flair, charisma and overall hype that once surrounded their emergence.

1Eva Alordiah

Eva could really rap as a Femcee, she was a breath of fresh air in the male-dominated music industry. The Delta State indigene showed lots of promise as an upcoming rap star. As at 2011, Eva Alordiah was bagging nominations for ‘Best Rap Act Of The Year‘ alongside bigger stars like Ice Prince, MI Abaga, Naeto C etc. Some of her early singles were pretty solid and impressive, soon enough she grew her following every day. She looked like the female who would give the guys a run for their money but that never happened. In 2016, she announced plans to quit music. Long and short of the story Eva never got to that peak we expected.
