The General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church Pastor William Kumuyi has charged Nigerians to be wary of fake prophets and their prophecies in 2019.
Kumuyi spoke at the church’s retreat at the Deeper Life Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway with the theme Hope: feasting after harvest.
Kumuyi said Nigerians should not believe or give their time to fake prophets, who have penchant for false prophecies in the New Year because some of their prophecies over the years have unfulfilled.
“Many so called prophets has penchant for prophesing about stock market, economy, politics, environment and other social issues but speak less of salvation message which is the heart beat of God for his people,” he lamented.
He asserted that prophecy that only draws attention to oneself and not to Christ displeases God.
He noted that since the fall of man, sin and wickedness have continue unabated but Jesus death and resurrection has given man hope, power, and victory over sin and it’s impeding dome of hell fire.
This, he said should be the focus of our message as God’s servant to His people.
He challenged preachers of the gospel to use every opportunity to warn sinners of the danger of hell if they fail to repent.
He wondered what will be the gains of preachers “if we have a swollen church with large membership to prepare men for heaven but lose our place in heaven.”
