The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Monday Ojiezele, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Feb. 12 at about 2:00 pm at Hotel Diganga, Ile-Ife.

He alleged that the defendants fraudulently converted the sum of N1.6 million belonging to one Aposo Abiola to their own use without his consent.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge against them.

The Defence Counsel, Mr Ola Ibrahim, applied for the bail of the defendants in the most liberal terms, pledging that his clients would provide reliable sureties.

Magistrate Olukunle Owolawi admitted the defendants to N500,000 bail with one surety each, in like sum.

Owolawi ordered that the sureties must swear to an affidavit of means, reside within the court’s jurisdiction, as well as provide three recent passport photographs each.

He added that the sureties must produce three years tax clearance certificate.

The magistrate adjourned the case till Aug. 28 for hearing. (NAN)
