1. Eleven new cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria, bringing the total cases in Nigeria to 81.

The National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which made the announcement Friday night, said the new patients are in Lagos, Enugu and Edo.

2. The Enugu State Government has ordered the closure of all land borders and inter-state transportation in the state till further notice, with effect from 6pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, except those on medical emergency services.

In a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Simon Uchenna Ortuanya, the state government also ordered the closure of all markets in the state, “no matter the size, till further notice, with effect from 6pm on Tuesday, the 31st day of March, 2020”.

3. Lagos State Government Friday, said the numbers of coronavirus cases in the state might reach 39, 000.

Prof. Akin Abayomi, the State Commissioner for Health, who spoke on Friday at a media briefing, said their Mathematical modeling shows that worst case scenario we might have 39, 000 cases in Lagos State; however, if people practice good social distancing, it can be limited that to about 13,000.

4. Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State on Friday made public his Coronavirus test result.

Fayemi disclosed that he tested negative to the deadly COVID-19 disease in a tweet on his verified Twitter handle, while urging Nigerians to be vigilant against the spread of the disease.

5. The Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has mocked those saying that the President has been evacuated abroad for treatment of Coronavirus.

He noted that the Presidential Villa is part of the world, part of humanity, and the people working there are not immune from what is happening in the rest of the world.

6. Zaina Ahmed, Minister of Finance, has disclosed that Nigeria will go into recession if the Coronavirus pandemic persists longer than six months.

Ahmed said this on Friday when she appeared on Channels TV that they were being hopeful that this COVID-19 pandemic will be contained in time.

7. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), on Friday confirmed that seven persons died in an auto-crash in Aki-na-Ukwa Junction, Mgbowo, of Port Harcourt-Enugu Road.

Mr Ogbonnaya Kalu, FRSC Sector Commander for Enugu State, who confirmed this to News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Enugu said that the accident happened at about 4p.m. on Thursday.

8. British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Boris Johnson, who confirmed this in a tweet on his official Twitter handle, revealed that he had developed mild symptom and is now self-isolating.

9. Popular Nigerian singer, Davido, has confirmed that his fiancée, Chioma, has tested positive for Coronavirus.

Davido disclosed this on his verified Twitter page on Friday night, adding that him and his son, Ifeanyi were tested negative but currently in self-isolation.

10. The Supreme Court has dismissed the application of the All Progressives Congress seeking to review the judgement on Zamfara governorship election.

The apex court said the application was a gross abuse of court, frivolous and grossly vexatious.
