COVID-19: Extend lockdown, provide palliatives for Deltans -Nupe monarch urges Gov. Okowa

The Etsu-Nupe of Warri, Alhaji Zuberu Mohammed Tajudeen, on Wednesday, said Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa should extend the lockdown in Delta State.

The Nupe monarch who spoke with DAILY POST in Warri, also said the Governor should provide palliative measures to cushion the effect of hunger associated with the lockdown as the people observe the stay at home order.

According to Alhaji Tajudeen, “Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa should not relax the lockdown. We don’t know what’s going on. We don’t want this sickness to come and affect our people.”

While noting that the cases in Nigeria had increased, Tajudeen said nobody knows who is a carrier of the disease.

While pointing out that the people were already crying of hunger, Alhaji Tajudeen said, “many of our people don’t have work in this town. Many are roaming about. The boys are even trying to loot.”
