Bola Tinubu mourns Senator Muniru Muse

National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has sent a condolence message to the family of the former Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District, Muniru Adekunle Muse.

DAILY POST reported that Muse died in the early hours of Tuesday. He was 81 years old.

Tinubu, in his condolence message made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday by his media office, described Muse as an associate who served as Chairman of Apapa Local Government during his time as Governor of Lagos State in 1999.

According to Tinubu, Muse was a committed and dedicated politician who sought the development of not only his Apapa constituency but also of Lagos State and Nigeria in general.

“He later served diligently as Senator representing Lagos Central from 2007 to 2011,” Tinubu recalled.

He further described the late former lawmaker as a loyal party man and a stabilizing factor in Lagos politics, adding that Muses’ contributions to his former political party, the Action Congress, AC, and later the AlPC were invaluable.

“Senator Muse was a devout Muslim who deployed all that he was blessed with, in the propagation of Islam. Such was his wonderful role that he was named a member of the Management Committee of Lagos central Mosque,” Tinubu said.

“I commiserate with his family, his Apapa constituency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the government and people of Lagos State.

“May Allah SWT comfort them and give them the strength to continue without their patriarch and leader.

‘May He also forgive the shortcomings of Senator Muse, reward his good deeds and grant him Al Jannah Firdaus.”
