The Lagos State government says the state’s COVID-19 related deaths have increased to 200.

The state government also raised an alarm that 1,400 active cases were yet to turn up for admission at care centres.

The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi, made the disclosure on Monday.

Abayomi said 71 new COVID-19 infections were confirmed out of a total of 844 COVID-19 tests conducted on Sunday.

The new cases raised the total numbers of confirmed infections in Lagos to 15,797.

The official announced that 68,929 tests have been conducted since the outbreak.

“2,269 of the confirmed cases have since been discharged from COVID-19 Care Centres.”

Abayomi added that 68 active cases are currently under isolation in public and private care centres.
