Real Madrid is considering signing Edinson Cavani, in a bid to solve their crisis in front of goal, ESPN reports.
Cavani, 33, is a free agent after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired in June.
The Uruguay international has already spoken with Juventus about a move and would be keen on a return to Italy, with his children still residing in Naples.
Juve is looking for Gonzalo Higuain’s replacement after they terminated the Argentine’s contract and he joined Inter Miami.
Madrid was not looking to strengthen their squad due to the financial implications of COVID-19, but they are now considering changing that stance.
However, before they can sign Cavani, Los Blancos would first need to shift some of the forwards in their squad, before the transfer window closes.
The Spanish champions are open to offers for Luka Jovic, Borja Mayoral and Mariano Diaz.
