Delta Police Command begs for peace amid widespread violence

The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa has reassured members of the public of the State Police Command’s commitment to ensuring the full compliance and implementation of all directives on police reforms as may be approved by the Federal Government.

The promises come in the wake of widespread violence following the hijack of the nationwide End SARS protest by hoodlums.

The Command says it will address all salient issues raised by the protesters as directed by police higher authorities, to meet the yearnings and aspirations of members of the public, especially the youths as regards its operations and performances.

The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to DAILY POST.

According to the statement, there will be an amicable resolution of all issues in contest.

“On this note, to ensure amicable resolution of the social unrest, all Deltans are hereby advised to sue for peace and abide by the State Government directives as regards the curfew and also partner with law enforcement agencies to build a peaceful and viable Delta.”

CP Inuwa also urged Deltans to stay at home, and remain law-abiding and eschew violence in all its ramifications.
