Men of the Nigerian police have apprehended two notorious armed robbers while they were robbing from house-to-house.
The FCT Commissioner of Police, Mr. Musa Kimo, says the Command has arrested two members of an armed robbery syndicate.
The suspects are Kingsley Ewoh, 24, and Chidibere Ejike of Waru area of Apo, FCT.
A statement by Spokesman for the command, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, on Tuesday said Kimo disclosed this after a security briefing from the Apo Divisional Police Officer, CSP Yahaya Jega, on the arrest of the suspects.
He said the suspects were arrested in the early hours of Monday after a distress call was received that they were carrying out a house-to-house robbery in the area.
The spokesman said that the syndicate was notorious for a late-night attack on fun seekers at relaxation joints.
He said that one of the suspects who sustained an injury while trying to escape had been taken to hospital for treatment.
Manzah stated that Kimo said under his supervision, the command would intensify its onslaught against unrepentant criminals in the territory.
He said items recovered from the suspects include: one locally fabricated pistol, four live cartridges, 10 cell phones, three wallets and quantity of dry leaves suspected to be Indian hemp.
Manzah said the commissioner had ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for discreet investigation.
