No fresh herdsmen invasion, killings in Enugu—Police

ENUGU—ENUGU State Command of the Nigeria Police Force, Thursday, stated that there was no fresh invasion or killings by herdsmen in the state adding that the state has remained peaceful after the last incident in 2016.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Ebere Amarizu, who said this in a release following trending online publications over the 2016 invasion and killings in Ukpabi Nimbo, Enugu State stated that it was an electronically induced story that is trending and not a recent occurrence.

He said: “The command, therefore, wishes to state as follows: That this is obviously an old story which the command promptly and diligently handled in 2016. There has not been any issue or crises between the herdsmen in the state, nor with farmers as the entire state has remained peaceful and calm.’’
