- Adamawa state House of Assembly has impeached its Deputy Speaker, Sunday Peter
- Other principal officers of the House that were impeached include the Majority Leader, Deputy Majority Leader and the Minority Leader
- The deputy speaker and other officers were immediately replaced
The Adamawa House of Assembly on Monday, September 25, impeached Sunday Peter as its Deputy Speaker.
NAIJ.com gathered that others removed were the Majority Leader, Alhaji Musa Mahmud, Deputy Majority Leader, Mutawali Mohammed and the Minority Leader, Mrs. Justina Nkom (SDP-Lamurde) State Constituency.

The motion for deputy speaker’s impeachment was moved by Muhammed Hayatu Atiku, representing Uba Gaya, seconded by Abubakar Abdurrahman (APC-Mubi South) and was signed by 17 members of the House.
The deputy speaker was immediately replaced by Emmanuel Tsamdu (APC-Madagali) while Hassan Burguma (APC-Hong) was also elected new majority leader.
The house elected Abubakar Isa (APC-Shelleng) new deputy majority leader while Mr. Lamsumbani Dili (PDP-Demsa) took over as the minority leader.

NAIJ.com earlier reported there was drama on Monday August 14, at the Edo state House of Assembly when the Speaker of the House, Dr. Justin Okonoboh, was impeached, following an impeachment notice signed by 16, out of the 24-member assembly.
The former principal officer of the House representing Akoko Edo I, Mr. Kabiru Adjoto, was elected as the new Speaker.
Three other members were said to have appended their signatures to increase the number to 19.
