WARRI—Ahead of the forthcoming local government election in Delta State, the Special Assistant to the governor on Special Duties, Mr. Arex Akemotubo has called on the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftains in Warri South West to rally round a competent candidate in the interest and growth of the local government council, while commending Governor Okowa’s disposition towards young and vibrant candidates.
Akemotubo made this disclosure yesterday in Warri while declaring his support for the senior special assistant to the Delta state Governor on Special Duties (public/ private partnership), Mr. Besidone Samuel Eyengho , who is vying for the Warri South West Council top job, noting that Mr. Eyengho is experienced, young and competent.
Akemotubo appealed to the state party chairman, Kingsley Esiso, not to bow to the threat issued by some party members in Orere ward within the Benin River axis of the local government, to decamp if their demands are not met, saying; “such threat is coming from a few members in the ward that does not have the interest of the party at heart.”
“The votes coming from Warri South West local government, does not centre on Orere ward alone and more so, we know those that are always working to ensure that the party is victorious in our Local Government Area” he added.
