Angry residents attack police station in Lagos, destroy properties (photos)





- Some residents of Isheri, a community in Lagos attacked a local police station

- The attack was reportedly ignited after a resident's body was found floating in a river

- The residents accused the police of killing the man during a raid on the community

Some yet to be identified residents of Isheri, a community in Lagos state, took the law into their hands by attacking the base 8 police division in the area.

The attack, according to the Rapid Response Squad (RSS) was alleged to have been a reprisal of the raid which police formation carried out in the area to clear it of criminal activities and hideouts in the community.

In the early hours of Saturday, November 18, a dead body was discovered floating on the river and the residents wrongly assumed the deceased drowned as a result of the raid by the police and attacked the station.

The police reacted swiftly to the attack and installed normalcy in the area. Investigations is still ongoing to find the perpetrators.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that some operatives of the Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos state police command have arrested a suspected scammer.

The operatives arrested the suspect, Dare Yusuf, 31, after he tricked a road user into buying substances that would double any cash.

Yusuf who live at 1, Abayomi Jones, Oke-Ilube, Ikotun, Lagos, had told the victim to apply the substance ‘adija’ to the money given.
