Lagos monarch warns youths against cultism, hard drugs

By Esther Onyegbula

Oba Babatunde Akanbi Nasiru Ogunrobi, of Shasha kingdom in Alimosho Local government area of Lagos State, has advised youths to shun drug abuse and other social vices due to their negative effects on the society.

Babatunde, gave the advice in Alimosho during a sensitization campaign against drug abuse and cultism among youths organized by Hope for the Addicts Initiative in Lagos State.

He said, “Drug abuse is taking a drug not prescribed by experts. Youths, women and other Nigerians must shun drug abuse. Drug addiction if unchecked could only lead to the production of irresponsible people. My advice is for parents to talk to their children and bring them up in a way that they can be better citizens.”

The monarch also advised government and other relevant stakeholders to come up with laws that would deal decisively with drug dealers and the victims.

He  urged politicians to support youths especially those from poor families to further their education especially through scholarship.
