Cross River Central: Diplomat joins senatorial race

By Emma Una

Dr Walter Favour Ajogbor has declared his intention to represent Cross River Central in the Senate through the 2019 elections.

Ajogbor, who spoke in Obubra, said his desire to represent the senatorial district was borne out of his desire to serve his people, stressing that he will bring his wealth of experience as a former administrator to bear on his responsibility as a senator.

He said that as a diplomat and administrator, who has served in various parts of the world, he has what it takes to be in the Red Chamber, adding that, as an old Obubra local government indigene, he should be given the opportunity to serve since “the area has not had its turn since the return to democratic rule in 1999”.

Receiving the aspirant, the Obol Lopon of Ugep, who led other Yakurr traditional rulers and the paramount ruler of Abi local government area and the Ova Usa of Usumutong, Ovai Solomon Edward Osim, assured him of the support of their subjects ahead of the 2019 project.
