World leaders pays tribute to Kofi Annan — ‘reformer of the UN’

Kofi Annan, former secretary-general of the United Nations, has passed away at age of 80.

Annan, the seventh secretary-general of the UN, died on Saturday after a brief illness.
World leaders such as Theresa May, Emmanuel Macron and notable persons have been paying tribute to the Nobel peace laureate.
Ghanian president, Nana Akufo-Addo, described Annan as one of the country’s “greatest compatriots”.

I extend, on behalf of the entire Ghanaian nation, our sincere, heartfelt condolences to his beloved widow, Nane Maria, and to his devoted children, Ama, Kojo and Nina, on this great loss. 2/7

He brought considerable renown to our country by this position and through his conduct and comportment in the global arena. He was an ardent believer in the capacity of the Ghanaian to chart his or her own course onto the path of progress and prosperity. 5/7

Kofi Annan lived his life with integrity, dignity and class. A thoroughly decent man. One of the best that Africa has produced. May his soul rest in peace. https://t.co/rG1uUKz4dS
