Check out the important document stopping Chelsea owner from attending matches at Stamford Bridge

- Roman Abramovich has withdrawn a British visa application

- The Chelsea owner has no future plans to re-apply after taken an Israeli passport

- He will be missing at Stamford Bridge for the visit of Arsenal this weekend

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is optimistic he will overcome his ongoing visa issues with the British government and attend the Blues home matches this season.

According to a UK Daily Mail report Abramovich withdrew an application for a British visa in June following reported delays in his application.

The Chelsea owner previous tier-1 visa, which permits individuals who invest more than £2m in the British economy to stay for 40 months, had been granted before new stringent regulations were put in place in April 2015.

Recently, the British government commenced a crackdown on wealthy investors heading to the UK after the Salisbury poisoning, as part of measures that has fallen out between Britain and Russia.

The report further revealed that Abroamovich is not looking forward to re-apply for a British visa, instead will make do with his Israeli passport.

Interestingly, the law permits an Israeli to enter the UK as a visitor for a 'maximum period of six months' but are will need a UK visa if they want to 'live, work or study' in the UK.

Therefore, the definition of the word 'work' is important to Abramovich's cause as it puts forward questions as to how he intends to manage his affairs at Stamford Bridge.

At the last count, the club owner was not in the stands during Chelsea FA Cup final victory over Manchester United at Wembley amid the uncertainty and the club's plans for the redevelopment of Stamford Bridge were also shelved due to an “unfavourable investment climate.”

However, with his new citizenship, Abramovich is looking forward to administer the club as he usual.

The club owner does not have a job title at Chelsea, is not a member of the club's board and does not take a salary from the club beyond dividends, he does not see himself to be 'working' when he attends meetings or watches matches at his football club.

Hopefully Chelsea fans will soon catch a glimpse of Abramovich at Stamford Bridge as he is usually on vacation in France at this period of year.

In a UK Daily Mail report the new man at the helms of affairs at Stamford Bridge stressed that the Belgium captain is an exceptional player with the necessary ingredients to become a world class player.

The Chelsea star has been frequently linked with a switch to Santiago Bernabeu all summer but is still at West London.
