The aspirations of Mrs. Uche Ekwunife, the woman who has dazzled many and numbed many others is again drawing attention ahead of another election season.

Ekwunife it is believed had given the inclination that she would for the first time in more than ten years sit out the coming election after the disappointment of being forced out from the present Senate.
But alas, she is drawing attention as the potential custodian of two Senate tickets of two of the major political parties. Indeed, only Ekwunife can do this.
However, at issue for many is the platform she is set to use to fight the election and to wit, face up to her old political foes including Senator Victor Umeh.
Since she ventured into politics, Ekwunife had changed political parties at least four times.
She was originally a member of the PDP, the platform she used to enter the House of Representatives in 2007 to represent Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia federal constituency. When she aspired for the governorship of Anambra State and with the perception that she could not contend with the powers in the PDP she defected to the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA ahead of the 2010 governorship election.
Following her defeat in that election, she defected to the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA and returned to the House on the platform of the party.
Ahead of the 2013 governorship election she sought the ticket of APGA but was defeated by Willie Obiano in the primaries a defeat that caused her to return to her first love, PDP.
She won the ticket of the PDP for the 2015 Senate election and was elected to the Senate. Her victory, however, turned pyrrhic when she was ousted by the courts which ruled that the PDP should not be allowed to feature in the rerun.
She then moved over to the All Progressives Congress, APC apparently with the aim of contesting the election on the platform of her new party but she failed as Sharon Ikeazor who had been rooted in the party and been with Muhammadu Buhari camp long before her was favoured for the ticket.
She, however, remained faithful and her influence in the ruling party was shown when she was appointed chairman of the panel that organised the congresses of the party in Lagos State earlier in the year.
After initial insinuations from her camp that she would not seek the Senate seat, she got the APC ticket for Anambra Central to the amazement of many stakeholders some of whom are alleging that she buldozed her way to get it. Indeed, one of the aspirants is vowing to fight it out with her in the courts, a decision that may have lead to claims in Anambra political circles that she is going to the PDP.
