Everything you need to know about the Soweto Gospel Choir that beat Seun Kuti at the 2019 Grammys

The Soweto Gospel Choir is currently popping after the group won an award at the 2019 Grammy Awards. The group won in the category of the Best World Music Album at the 61st edition.

In 2018, five groups had been nominated for the category. Legit.ng had reported that Afrobeat artist Seun Kuti and his Egypt 80 were nominated for the category alongside other groups.

South Africa's Soweto Gospel Choir, Bombino from Niger, Fatoumata Diawara from Mali and Soviet's Yiddish Glory.

On Sunday, February 10, the Grammy Awards took place and the Soweto Gospel Choir was recognised for their hard work with the award. Despite the fact, that they won against Nigeria's Seun Kuti, we are still happy for them.
