Immanuel James Ibe-Anyanwu, a facebook user, took to his page on Friday, February 15, to lament the condition surrounding Sharibu's continued unknown whereabouts.
Ibe-Anyanwu uploaded the girl's excellent junior WAEC result, applauding the girl's brilliance despite the fact that she is from a state where academic intelligence as hers is rare.
He also lamented the fact that nobody mentioned her issue in the just concluded campaign for the general elections.
Ibe-Anyanwu mentioned that in a saner society, the issue of Sharibu would have impacted greatly on the general elections.
He said : "Junior WAEC result of Leah Sharibu, a girl whose story should be ours. She is from Nigeria’s least-educated state, where a stunning result should hold promise for girls seeking education. But with 9 A’s and 3 B’s, Leah is serving Al-Barnawi in the bush, enslaved without consequence.
Not even electoral consequence attends her neglect by the government of her country. There was no mention of her name all through electioneering. Earlier, her abusers had, instead, reportedly received juicy ransoms rather than reproach for the evil they did.
Tomorrow is Nigeria’s presidential election. In decent places, Leah would impact that exercise. While we may be helpless about her, we could at least choose this moment to remember her yet again. To let her know that, though they may never remember, we will never forget."
