Ex-Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is currently meeting with China’s richest man, Hui Ka Yan, in a move that will see him take over managerial role at the Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande and also the national team.
According to The Telegraph, Hui, who is chairman of the Evergrande Group, one of China’s largest property companies, is keen on re-positioning the nation’s super league as well as qualifying for the next World Cup in 2022.
Both men held discussions during the Chinese new year with Hui ready to bring on board the best manager in the world as he’s eager to raise the standard of the game in the Asian country.

And employing a manager in Mourinho’s class will no doubt set the ball rolling.
At the last count, Hui has coughed out millions in building the world’s largest football school in China, while remaining hopeful it will improve the domestic league and the Chinese national team.
Interestingly, China have only featured at World Cup once in 2002, but moves are underway in ensuring they become a “world football superpower” in no distant time.
Discussions are reportedly ongoing with Mourinho thrilled with the prospect of improving the league along with the national team.
The 56-year-old Mourinho has opened up on his desire to seek a new challenge and has not landed another job since he was sent packing by Man United last year.
The Portuguese tactician was repeatedly linked with a return to Inter Milan before Antonio Conte was named as manager.
Mourinho was also hopeful of getting Paris Saint-Germain job, but instead Thomas Tuchel who was reportedly under fire for under-performing in the UCL was handed a new contract.
