Premier League side Newcastle United have named Steve Bruce as their new head coach ahead of the coming league season.
The 58-year-old will take over from Rafa Benitez, whose expired deal was not renewed by the club chiefs this summer.
It would however be recalled that Brice stepped down from his position at Championship side Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month.

He however told the club website that: "I would place on record my thanks to Ben Dawson, Neil Redfearn and our medical and support staff for the way in which they have worked together to oversee the start of our pre-season preparations."
Bruce and his back room staff will join up with his new team in China as they prepare for their Premier League Asia Trophy clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Ben Dawson and Neil Redfearn will be in charge of the team for the game in Asia today.
In over 21-year of his coaching career, Bruce has taken charge of about eight clubs, including Sunderland and Crystal Palace, and has clocked up more than 900 competitive matches.

During his playing career, Bruce featured for Manchester United for nine years before finally hanging his boot in 1999.
He won 12 major titles including three Premier Leagues during his reign at Old Trafford.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier has agreed a four year deal with Atletico Madrid pending official announcement from the two clubs involved.
The 28-year-old is expected at the Wanda Matropolitano Stadium this week for Medicals after which he will join the rest of Los Rojiblancos they continue preparations for the new season in Los Angeles.
