The politician mentioned it at an interview with HIP TV, where he stated that entertainment is the best product a country like Nigeria with over 200 million can sell to the world. His comments have been trending on social media with most people criticizing him for suggesting that foreign content be banned.
In the clip, which has now gone viral, Elliot can be seen stating that the entertainment industry should be treated like 'rice'. Without missing a beat, he went on about how Nollywood will only grow if foreign content is completely starved in the country.
