Just in: Buhari explains how new ministers will operate





- President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, August 14, disclosed that new ministers will be sworn in next week

- Buhari said the newly nominated ministers will work with a clear target

- According to the president, his government will ensure that all the given targets are complied with

President Muhammadu Buhari has said the new ministers who will be sworn in next week will receive clear target with their portfolios.

Buhari made this known via his official twitter handle on Wednesday, August 14, adding that his administration will ensure all the targets are complied with.

He also said that performance of all the ministers will be closely monitored by the office of the secretary to the government of the federation.

He tweeted:

Recall that Legit.ng earlier reported that Buhari would on Wednesday, August 21, swear in all the nominated and approved ministers who are to serve on his second cabinet.

This was contained in a statement signed by Secretary to the Government of the Federation Boss Mustapha.

According to Babatunde Lawal, the permanent secretary of the cabinet affairs office, a two-day induction will be conducted for the new ministers between Friday, August 16 and Tuesday, August 20, before the inauguration on Wednesday, August 21.

Buhari also raised a kitchen cabinet advisory committee to designate portfolios for all the ministerial nominees successfully screened by the National Assembly.

It was gathered that the committee raised by the president is expected to ensure the placement of nominees in appropriate ministries for effectiveness.

The new committee will also be focused on 29 new nominees on the ministerial list who will be joining the returning ministers at the Federal Executive Council.

It was also gathered that some of the ministers are lobbying for juicy positions where they can impact on the lives of Nigerians with much visibility.
