- An unnamed collation officer in the Kogi election has exposed a plot by politicians to bribe him and his colleagues to change results in their favour

- The collation officer presented bundles of cash given to him by the desperate politicians

- The INEC official, however, did not name the politician that gave him the money or the party he or she belonged to

A collation officer for the governorship election held in Igalamela-Odolu local government area of Kogi state on Saturday, November 16 has become the star of the ongoing announcement of results at the INEC centre in Lokoja.

The Cable reports that the unnamed official, seen in the picture below, presented the alleged bribe money politicians offered to the presiding officer of the local government.

Although the collation officer did not mention the details of the party nor give the names of those that gave them the money, he showed the huge wad of cash that he and his team were offered by desperate politicians trying to change the results of the election.

According to him, the money was N50,000 in total.

Legit.ng had reported earlier that the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) accused politicians in Kogi state of trying to influence officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Centre for Democracy and Development on Friday, November 15, said politicians from an unnamed political party was bribing electoral officials with $1,000 (N360,000 at N360 to a dollar) to influence processes at the poll in their favour.

CDD in a statement said the observation was made by some of its observers in the field.
