The lawmaker representing Adavi/Okehi constituency at the National Assembly, Honourable Joseph Asuku Bello on Monday, November 18, congratulated Governor Yahaya Bello and his deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja on their victory in the just concluded governorship election in Kogi state.
Governor Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), having polled 406,222 votes, winning in 12 local government areas of the state.
Hon. Asuku who congratulated the governor while briefing newsmen in Adavi, stated that the results of the election shows that the incumbent is a divine choice of the Kogi people.
According to him, winning majority of votes cast also shows that the governor has been on the right course in the last four years.

The federal lawmaker urged all Kogites to accept the verdict, adding that the election was adjudged free, credible, transparent and peaceful.
“Our plans are visionary and bold. Our goals are just. And the governor you have re-elected is honest and true.
“There is no aspect of greatness and achievement that lies beyond our reach. Posterity shall reward you for what you established on election day.
“Today the sun shines brighter on our confluence state. If we work hard, tomorrow we shall be able to say the same thing,” Asuku, an APC lawmaker said.
“I am also calling on potentially aggrieved parties not to heat up the polity through unguarded utterances and actions,’’ he added
Meanwhile, Kogi state deputy governor, Chief Edward Onoja, has said the election was between the haves and have nots.
He described himself and his principal, Governor Yahaya Bello, as sons of nobody who rose to the pinnacle of power in the state.
