Blue took home the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award, which also credits her parents as co-writers at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards on Sunday, November 17.
Other co-writers shared the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award win with the young girl including SAINt JHN and Wizkid.
Twitter users applauded the youngster for her breakthrough.
Brown Skin Girl was part of her mom’s 2019 The Lion King: The Gift album, and it received rave reviews from fans and critics upon its release.
The #BrownSkinGirlChallenge even went viral on social media, with black women including Lupita Nyong’o and Gabrielle Union using the hashtag to celebrate the song’s positive message.
Beyoncé is currently involved in a trademark battle over her daughter’s name.
The superstar singer claimed in court documents that her child is a cultural icon so this latest honour may help her case.
In addition to Blue, Bey and Jay are also parents to 2-year-old twins Sir and Rumi Carter.
Beyonce's connection to her children was important to her crafting of The Gift, she revealed during an interview with ABC in September 2019, special: Beyonce Presents: Making the Gift.
"Knowing where you come from, that’s what I want for my children," she said of bringing all three kids to Africa.
"It feels like I’m making peace with a part of me that is yearning for my ancestral connection," she added.
