Real Madrid star linked with Tottenham move reveals why Mourinho is better manager than Zidane

- The Welshman is linked to possible EPL return with Spurs the destination

- Mourinho was appointed Tottenham boss after the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino

Embattled Real Madrid star, Gareth Bale, has hailed Jose Mourinho's appointment as Tottenham manager, fuelling his frosty relationship with the Spanish giants.

The Welshman moved to Spain for a world record fee worth £85million in 2013 and had a brief stint with Mourinho before the Portuguese was shown the exit door.

And Bale, who has been linked with a possible switch to England following fallout with Real Madrid hierarchy, has described Mourinho as "serial winner."

"Having Mourinho there is an amazing statement from the club, I think he's a serial winner," Bale said.

"Tottenham want to win trophies and I don't think there's a better partnership than Mourinho and Tottenham together to try and win some trophies."

Bale, who is bent on forcing his move from Real Madrid, had his China big-money switch frustrated by Los Blancos during the last summer.

In protest, the 30-year-old star celebrated his country's Euro 202 qualification with a controversial flag, fueling his strained relationship with the Spanish giants.

The winger was seen with flag bearing a controversial inscription "Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order."

The flagrant disrespect was said to have angered Zinedine Zidane who reportedly wanted the star out with Mourinho considering the option of having him in his Spurs squad.

The Portuguese took charge of the Premier League side after the sacking of their former boss Mauricio Pochettino in November.
