De Bruyne, Sterling, Aguero, others set to walkout on Man City after losing trust and confidence in club
- Man City stars could leave the club for nothing and become free agents after the club was banned from the Champions League
- City were found guilty for misleading UEFA and disobeying Financial Fair Play rules in a leaked file that was presented to the media
- The likes of Pep Guardiola, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and a host of others could walk away from the club
Man City players could walk out on club on grounds that the trust and confidence in their employers were betrayed, reports claim.
The Etihad outfit have been banned by UEFA from participating in the Champions League in the next two seasons and slapped with a £25million fine.
City were culpable for misleading Europe's governing body and breaking Financial Fair Play rules.
And according to sports lawyer John Mehrzad, players can walk away from the club as free agents because the club have breached their contracts
This means that players and coaches will be able to walk away from the club for nothing or request improved financials terms in order to stay.
Mehrzad tweeted: "The club arguably has breached their contracts, entitling them to walk out of the club or seek improved financial terms to stay."
The legal practitioner also said that players could say the club have prevented them from playing in Europe's elite tournament.
The lawyer said: "Players could contend that their contracts have been undermined - and resign in response, becoming free agents.
"Their agents will demand massive guaranteed payments/renegotiated contracts for them to stay."
Pep Guardiola's future as well as the likes of Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bryune, Sergio Aguero and the likes could leave the club.
City's place in the league have been rendered null and void for a top four place finish as the team that finishes fifth will qualify.
The Etihad out will be taking on Real Madrid in the last 16 and winning the tournament for the first time in their history could be the club's only consolation.
