Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Sunday, February, 16, reacted to a report that its men attacked and killed 250 suspected Boko Haram members in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.
Borno, located in the north eastern part of Nigeria, has been the hotbed of insecurity in the country.
NAF, through a statement by Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, its spokesperson, described an earlier report that claims its personnel killed the number of insurgents as fake.
It said the report had come to the public in the form of a breaking news and indicated that the attack against the terrorists was recorded in Maiduguri.
According to NAF, the alleged false report was released on February 13, 2020 by one ‘Comr Aminu Shuaibu Musawa’.

"The NAF wishes to categorically state that the false sensational news item, with its gory doctored visuals, is totally fake and did not originate from the NAF," the security agency said.
It urged news organisations and journalists to disregard the information by the said Musawa adding that its details of its activities would be constantly made public through the right channels, one of which is its website, www.airforce.mil.ng
