The training ground of Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) at Kirta Wulgo on the fringes of the Lake Chad in Northern Borno has been destroyed by men of Nigerian Air Force (NAF).

This was disclosed by Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, NAF’s Director of Public Relations and Information.

According to Daramola, the operation was conducted on Sunday, February 16, through the Air Task Force (ATF) of Operation Lafiya Dole.

Going further, he disclosed that the feat was achieved as a result of the credible information and intelligence they gathered.

Daramola also pledged that NAF would sustain its air campaign. He said this will also support ground troops.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on Sunday, February, 16, reacted to a report that its men attacked and killed 250 suspected Boko Haram members in Maiduguri, capital of Borno state.

Did the Nigerian Air Force actually kill 250 Boko Haram fighters in Maiduguri? Here is the truth

Borno, located in the north eastern part of Nigeria, has been the hotbed of insecurity in the country.

NAF, through a statement by Air Commodore Ibikunle Daramola, its spokesperson, described an earlier report that claims its personnel killed the number of insurgents as fake.

It said the report had come to the public in the form of a breaking news and indicated that the attack against the terrorists was recorded in Maiduguri.

According to NAF, the alleged false report was released on February 13, 2020 by one ‘Comr Aminu Shuaibu Musawa’.

"The NAF wishes to categorically state that the false sensational news item, with its gory doctored visuals, is totally fake and did not originate from the NAF," the security agency said.

It urged news organisations and journalists to disregard the information by the said Musawa adding that its details of its activities would be constantly made public through the right channels, one of which is its website, www.airforce.mil.ng
