- Anthony Joshua took a tour of his native hometown Sagamu in Ogun state as he arrived Nigeria

- The heavyweight champ visited the palace of Elepe of Epe and Akarigbo of Remoland where he had close conversations with the monarchs

- Joshua did not go alone, as with him was his 4-year-old son Joseph Bayley Temiloluwa Joshua known as JJ

Two-time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua visited his native hometown Sagamu in Ogun state on Wednesday, February 19, where he was given a heroic welcome by his delighted kinsmen.

The visit came barely six months he came to Nigeria and paid a courtesy visit to Makoko area of Lagos state ahead of his much-anticipated fight against Mexican heavyweight star Andy Ruiz Jr.

Joshua arrived in Nigeria probably on Wednesday morning, and the pugilist quickly took to work by getting himself enrolled into the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) data, though the process was dragged into the whirlpool of criticism.

Joshua later took a tour of his hometown in Ogun state alongside his 4-year-old son Prince Joseph Bayley Temiloluwa Joshua where he was welcomed by a teeming legion of people of the community.

He also visited the Elepe of Epe Oba Adewale Oshiberu before paying a courtesy visit to the palace of Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi.

Earlier, Joshua Joshua had met President Muhammadu Buhari who was in the United Kingdom for the Investment Summit.

It was there the heavyweight king prostrated for the president and presented his IBO, IBF, WBO and WBA belts to him in the presence of other top Nigerians including Abike Dabiri-Erewa, chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) and Nìyí Adebayo, minister of industry, trade and investment.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had reported that Bulgarian heavyweight fighter, Kubrat Pulev, has confirmed that his showdown with Anthony Joshua will hold in 2020 in Turkey capital Istanbul.

The 38-year-old boxing star is billed to fight Joshua as a mandatory challenger in a title-defence bout that will see IBF belt put in line.

The fight, it was earlier believed, would hold inside Tottenham Hotspurs stadium but the Bulgarian has hinted at possible venue change with Instabul stadium leading the race.
