- Lionel Messi has confirmed that he will not leave Barcelona
- This comes after being linked with a move away from the Spanish giants
- Messi stated clearly that he is enjoying life at the Nou Camp
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has been playing for the club since he was young when he started his career with the famous academy side La Masia before moving to the main team.
Lionel Messi has never played for any other club in his career other than Barcelona despite all the attempts of many clubs to lure him away from the Nou Camp.
The Argentina international has won all the trophies at club level with Barcelona.
At the age of 32, many pundits are of the opinion that Lionel Messi may not win the World Cup in his career considering the age he will turn to when the next championship holds.
Messi has however put that behind him to focus on his career with Barcelona where he recently won the 2019 Ballon d'or award.
Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk came second, while Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo came third as Messi won his sixth Ballon d'Or in his career.
Recently, Lionel Messi was linked away from Barcelona after having a bust up with Eric Abidal over statement the former defender made.
The likes of Inter Milan, Juventus, Manchester City and Manchester United were all linked with a move to sign Lionel Messi this coming summer.
Messi has now confirmed that he is not going anywhere claiming that he is happy with life in Barcelona.
“I love Barcelona although I miss Rosario very much. This is my home, I have been here longer than in Argentina. I love Barcelona and in the place where I live, I live a life that I like very much,” he told Mundo Deportivo.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Lionel Messi made a striking confession after revealing he does not want a life contract at Camp Nou despite his desire to remain at Barcelona.
The 32-year-old's future at the club remains uncertain when club President Josep Bartomeu revealed that their captain has a clause in his contract which enables him to leave at the end of the season.
Lionel Messi has also said he is not surprised with Cristiano Ronaldo's form in front of goal as he describes the Portuguese as a predator.
Ronaldo has scored in 10 consecutive Serie A matches this season to take his overall tally to 20 goals.
He is currently second in Italy's goal scoring charts behind Lazio's Ciro Immobile who has 26 goals.
