- The Nigerian striker stands to risk £75m contract with Shanghai
- Ighalo will become highest paid African footballer if he should return to China
Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo is now ready to make a real financial gamble on his contract with Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua as he wants to finish the season with Manchester United.
This means that the former Watford star will have to risk a new £75m contract Shanghai chiefs are planning to offer him which will make Ighalo the highest paid African star.
Odion Ighalo made a dream move to Manchester United during the January transfer window when Marcus Rashford got injured and he has been superb for the Red Devils.
Since he started playing for Ole Solskjaer, Odion Ighalo has scored four goals in eight games even though he has not netted a Premier League goal for the Old Trafford landlords.
But his current loan deal with Manchester United will be coming to an end this weekend and there have been lot of talks surrounding his future.
The former Super Eagles star is desperate to remain at Manchester United and has pleaded with Shanghai chiefs to allow him to stay.
United on the other hand are also willing to allow Odion Ighalo continue his games with them in the Premier League so as to be a nice cover up for Marcus Rashford.
