The Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA) has called on Ibrahim Magu to give account of missing 332 houses and two recovered oil vessels, The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

The PCARA said that the vessels (MT GOOD SUCCESS, MV PSV DERBY and MV THAMES) were left to sink despite warning from the Nigerian Navy to recover the petroleum products contained in them.

During a probe by the PCARA, suspended the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) failed to give proper account for the damaged and deteriorating properties in the agency's custody.

The panel's report claimed that the vessels sunk "at NNS Beecroft Naval BASE, Lagos and NNS Pathfinder Naval Base in Port Harcourt without trace under the watch of the acting Chairman of EFCC."

Part of the report by the panel read: “For instance, EFCC stated 836 as the number of Recovered Real Estate in the Original Returns it made to the President on 07/04/2017.

“However, in its 1st Returns to PCARA on 13/12/2017, EFCC short-changed the system and gave the figure of 339 thereby failing to account for 497 property.

“It is interesting to note that when the Acting Chairman was further queried on this lapse, he made further contradictory 2nd return of 504 on 09/03/2018 thereby bridging the gap to 332 property.’’

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that it seemed that each day unfolded with new allegations against Magu as the PCARA dug deeper into the ongoing probe.

According to a report released by the PCARA chaired by Ayo Salami, the recently suspended acting chairman of the EFCC used the senior pastor of Hand of God Prophetic Ministry, Emmanuel Omale, to purchase a property in Dubai with loot recovered in 2015.

Omale's name was said to have surfaced while the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) was carrying out its investigation.

According to the NFIU's report, there was an illegal movement of funds to the tune of N573,228,040.41.
