Manchester United are now at the forefront to sign £60million rated Ben Chilwell from Leicester City amid interests from rival clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City.
The English defender has emerged Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s top priority as the United boss continue to build the team in a bid to challenge for the title next season.
And the move will cast doubt over the future of Chilwell’s England team-mate Luke Shaw.
And after the signing of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, Chelsea are also making efforts in landing the player with Frank Lampard looking to sell left-back Emerson Palmieri to Inter Milan in a £15million deal.
Manchester City also hope they can replace Benjamin Mendy with Chilwell, but the 23-year-old England international may be heading for the Old Trafford.

If successful, it will be the second time United will have raided Leicester’s defence in a year after landing Harry Maguire last summer for £80m.
Meanwhile, Manchester United boss Ole Solskjaer has explained that one of his priorities at the end of the ongoing Premier League season is to keep France international Paul Pogba.
There has been serious uncertainty surrounding the future of Paul Pogba at Manchester United with reports linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.
Last year July, the World Cup winner explained that he wanted a new challenge with serious speculation that he could be on his way to join Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Before the season was suspended, Paul Pogba played only eight games for Manchester United in all competitions before he sustained injury in December last year.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard seems to have concluded plans to allow N'golo Kante to join Real Madrid in a bid to raise funds for summer target Kai Havertz. The Blues already completed the signing of Ajax's Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in a deal which cost them about £85 million.
And if they must splash any more money on incoming stars, they need to release a few of their stars to achieve such a goal.
SunSports report that the Bayer Leverkusen player is ready to leave his present club with the Stamford Bridge outfit leading the chase for the enterprising midfielder.
