Not only Nigerians, top countries in the international community are keenly interested in the ongoing probe on Ibrahim Magu by the Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Assets (PCARA).
Some of these countries, the United Kingdom (UK), the United States (US), France, Switzerland, the and the United Arab Emirate (UAE) are said to have mutual legal assistance treaties with Nigeria.
Reports have it that these countries are monitoring the probe by the PCARA because most of the loots recovered by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) under Magu were hidden in their borders.
Some diplomatic sources of these countries revealed to The Nations that they have their intelligence on each facet of the investigation.

The diplomats noted that they are watching first to ascertain whether the allegations against Magu are true and to see if the panel will follow due processes in the probe.

One of the sources disclosed: “We want to know if the allegations against Magu are true; if the process of investigation is in conformity with international best practices; whether there is fair hearing and the implications of the challenge at hand for the anti-corruption campaign in your country.
“We are as curious as every Nigerian in knowing the truth about all these allegations. Ultimately, we desire strict commitment to the rule of law, social justice, upholding the fundamentals of democracy and human rights, fairness and equity to all and a corruption-free Nigeria.”
Another diplomat pointed out that his nation is watching the entire saga to see if the current administration is truly committed to the fight against corruption.
The source said: “Whatever is the outcome, it will assist in reaching conclusions on where Nigeria is headed in fighting corruption and ensuring justice.”
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that according to a report released by the PCARA chaired by Ayo Salami, Magu used the senior pastor of Hand of God Prophetic Ministry, Emmanuel Omale, to purchase a property in Dubai with loot recovered in 2015.
